Author J. Robert Whittle follows up his popular novel Bound by Loyalty with Book Two of the Victoria Chronicles, Loyalty's Reward. In this well written sequel, readers once again follow the charmed lives of Nancy Wilson and Dan Brown as they fall in love amidst the tumultuous times of the 1900s.

Throughout the second novel, Nancy displays an amazing singing talent, along with an incredible nose for business. She charms all who meet her, particularly Dan who realizes his deep love for her, just as he is sent to fight in the Great War in Europe. As she pines away for Dan, Nancy distracts herself with her work as a hotel hostess, business owner, entertainer, and philanthropist. To spice things up a bit, she transports liquor from Canada to prohibitionist Seattle in a luxurious but speedy boat, provided by a wealthy benefactor.

In Loyalty's Reward, Whittle further develops his lovable characters, Dan and Nancy along with two more "adopted" family members, Aunt Meg and Uncle Jeb. Once again Whittle offers his readers fascinating details of the prohibitionist era, World War I, and the continuing growth of the industrial age. This combination of history and compelling characters makes the second novel even better than the first, drawing readers into the political action as the romance between Dan and Nancy gradually unfolds.

For those who enjoyed Bound by Loyalty, Loyalty's Reward is an exceptional sequel and a must read for J. Robert Whittle fans.

Another novel in the works

Although a third novel was not originally planned, Whittle's devoted fans have become so enraptured with the lives of Dan and Nancy, they have convinced the author to write a subsequent, as-yet-untitled novel in the Victoria Chronicles series.
