During his travels, Ryan meets and falls in love with present-day Mary Janick, a history teacher from Everett. The two enjoy secretly helping others as their relationship blossoms into a romance not to be separated by time or space.

With historical information sprinkled throughout the novel, this charming tale is a delightful departure from today’s steamy romance novels, gory real life murder mysteries and frightening terrorist plots. This fun book not only pairs Whittle and Sandilands in a fanciful story, but it brings back much loved characters from several of Whittles’ books including Nancy Wilson, a fan favorite.

Whispers Across Time is an engaging way to escape the pressures of daily life. Readers will enjoy Whittle and Sandilands’ uncomplicated writing style, as well as the intricate details that make their writing special. Although an unlikely adventure, this family-friendly novel offers a wonderful change of pace that will charm and delight readers of all ages.
